My name is Katherine Messner, but I prefer “Kate” these days. I live in the vicinity of Nashua, have 4 wonderful, grown children, and as of December 2015 a first grandchild.
On a professional level, I am presently employed in Nashua at a Mayflower moving agency. In the past I have been very fortunate to work with some top notch professionals in various scientific and high tech engineering fields over the course of my career in a variety of customer-facing roles primarily in and around Sales and Marketing.
In 2012 and 2014 I ran as a candidate for NH State Senate, District 14. Having done so, I learned a great deal about what it means to participate personally in the democratic process. While I didn’t win, I’m pleased with the results, and it was a great experience, but there is plenty about that on other pages as well as on a separate Facebook page devoted to that effort.
In 2016 I put my name on the ballot for State Representative for District 37 (Hudson & Pelham) and if elected I would proudly serve. But in general I have moved away from political posts here, saving those for venues such as the Hudson Democratic Town Committee. To stay abreast of Hudson Democratic issues I encourage a visit to the Committee’s web site and / or Facebook page. I also recommend the civic minded not only visit, but bookmark the state site where one can monitor progress (or lack thereof) on specific bills in this legislation: NH General Court.
Another love of mine is the Unitarian Universalist Church of Nashua where I have been a member for over a decade. For several years I organised the annual winter weekend trip to the AMC lodge at Cardigan mountain. I have also served as Co-Chair of the Stewardship Committee helping to secure a healthy future for our church home. And I’ve also been member of the PR Committee where I get to promote a great place, and a contemporary liberal faith beyond the walls of the church.
